Marzocchi's best-selling fork, the 888 has new 38mm stanchions allowing it to have a better turning radius. And because of the new casting and improved crown, it's actually stiffer than last year's fork. The top-of-the-line, air-sprung 888 ATA World Cup offers maximum adjustability, including 160-200mm travel adjustment - and weighs in at only 2910g / 6.41lbs. The 888 RC3 World Cup comes with a standard ti spring and the simple, proven feel and reliability of coil suspension. There are two other versions of the 2008 888, the RC3 and the RCV. All four versions have 200mm of travel, the new 20mm QR axle, the new casting, and 38mm stanchions.

Even thought you may not like the way the new crown looks, Marzocchi claims it's much lighter and stronger. And although I agree with you on the aesthetics, based on what I know, I think it's a much better fork. I have no doubt the new crown is better, if not as pretty. And I love air. If the ATA stuff is reliable, I think it will be awesome. Air suspension can be fine-tuned sooo much better than coil.

wow, I can't believe how much better the 06 and 07 888's looked. The new crowns look plain and the decals are hideous. The cable guide is the only thing that I can say looks like an obvious improvement.
