Here is where the new trail crosses the old trail. The old alignment (now covered with branches) went straight down through though trees…on a bike, you've just descended 1,500' of pretty straight trail, your brakes are worked, and you end up with wide-open eyes staring at that creek bed in a panic skid. The new trail is intended to eliminate those moments here.
The new alignment goes right to a switchback…then left back to the base of the trail.
