I agree. I spent several weeks up in the Vancouver/Whistler area a couple years ago. I don't know how you Candians managed to sell your trail ideas to the powers at be, but I wish you guys would take pity on us Staters and talk our anal-retentive, law-suit-fearing people into making some good trails. We're starving for good trails down here. There are some good secret ones, but that's just it; they're secrets. Awesome downhill should have to be some sort of underground, members only, secret. It should be nurtured and developed into a great activity for everyone of all skill levels. Laters...

If you want good trails, go to Canada.

In fact, I did get to ride with the infamous Bender this summer. Everything in Silverton is geared toward riders with above average skill. Unlike Vail, where everything is geared toward bike-renting tourists from Ohio who buy lots of things. I wish Vail could have stepped up and offered more to DH'ers. But their attitude toward DH'ers is really getting oppressive. And it's too bad, because there are some really cool locals there as well as some good bike shops that are paying the price for Vail careless attitude toward this style of riding and the progression of the sport.
