I've been using this shoe for XC/Trail riding for about a year with good luck. I like it as I tend to smack my ankles into the cranks, so the inside ankle bone caps prevent the pain. I'd recommend them if you are using clipless shoes. If you use flat pedals, the 661 Dually has similar ankle protection.
