| These are some photos of my new bike which was extremely hard to build in Japan, as MTBKING hasn't taken off here. Hard that is, until I found the guys at RINRIN ASHIYA, near Osaka. A very unassuming shop with hundreds of "MAMA CHARIES" (grandmother bikes which seem to be the main source of simple harmonic motion here) out the front. As I was walking past, thinking that the hope of building my dream bike in Japan was not a reality, I spied some nicer machines out the back. These guys are legends, especially Hayakawa, who gave me all the (free) help and guidance I needed. Then after ten months, he built it, and in true Japanese fashion, he went the extra mile with the little things, Alloy, orange valve caps and water bottle screws e.t.c. He took me for my first ride today, and I haven't got this stupid bloodey smile off my face!! I hope you enjoy the pics, and if anyone is in Japan and needs help, don't hesitate to email me and I'll put you in touch with "the boys". |
